Retired CGRN Credential

The Board of Directors is excited to announce the creation of a credential for retired certified gastroenterology registered nurses. The purpose of the CGRN-Retired credential is to recognize years of service in caring for gastroenterology patients and to acknowledge dedication to certification.

Retirement from clinical practice can take place for a variety of reasons including illness, disability, career change or choice. The CGRN-Retired designation is to recognize those certificants who would like acknowledgement of their achievement no matter which path they choose.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have been certified and working in the field of gastroenterology for a 5 year period to be eligible.
  • The applicant must be retiring from active gastroenterology nursing practice with no plans to return to a full or part time position. Per Diem employment is acceptable but the use of the designation, CGRN-Retired, is not permitted in this situation.
  • The applicant’s nursing license must be unrestricted.

Registration and Fees

  • The applicant must submit the CGRN-Retired Credential Application form, complete with the honor statement signed.
  • The application fee of $75 must be included.
  • The CGRN-Retired designation is to be renewed every 5 years.
  • Upon approval, a retired designation certificate will be mailed to you.
